Detailed SGP Garden Pump Description
Working principles:
These are self - priming centrifugal pumps, self - priming is achieved
using an ejector housed in the pump body. The remaining water is re - circulated through the ejector,
which is connected to the suction chamber and generates the
necessary vacuum to self - prime the pump. The total delivery
produced by the closed centrifugal impeller is sent only partly to the
pump body. When starting the pump,
fill the pump body with water, (without bothering to fill the suction
piping and eliminate air ). At the same time, the vacuum generated causes
water to rise in the suction piping, thus self - primes the pump. When the pump is started up, the
water in the pump body circulates through the ejector and transfers
air from the suction to the delivery chamber, expels it through the
delivery piping. Since
the self - priming system operates continuously, these pumps are
practically unaffected even by the presence of large amounts of
entrained air in the fluid being pumped.
Installation:
These pumps should be installed in a covered area, protected
against the water.
Applications:
These pumps are suitable for pumping clean water and fluids which
are not chemically aggressive to the pump components. This series, is designed with particular attention to
hydraulic efficiency and choice of materials, produced based
on our TAIFU experience, which results compact
and quiet pumps of high performance. They are
extremely reliable, particularly suitable
for domestic applications, economical and easy to use, such as the automatic distribution of water
from small and medium - sized surge tanks and watering gardens. It is always advisable to install a foot valve or a
non - return valve on the suction opening.
Performance:
a) High heads with respect to power requirements
b) Flat operating and power absorption curves, gives moderate
curve variations with respect to large variations in delivery demand
c) High tolerance of the presence of entrained air in the fluid to be
pumped
d) Suction capacity up to 9 meters
Structural characteristics:
a) Plastic or stainless steel pump body with UNISO228 / 1 gas
threaded suction and delivery openings
b) Stainless steel pump body cover serves as mechanical seal
housing
c) Ejector unit:
1) Centrifugal radial flow impeller in plastic or techno - polymer as
required
2) Stainless steel motor shaft
3) Ceramic and graphite mechanical seal
d) Motor: the pumps are coupled directly to asynchronous and high
efficient "TAIFU" induction motors of suitable sizes, which runs
quietly and are closed and externally ventilated, suitable for
continuous duty
e) Insulation (class ): the thermal cutout relay (motor ) is
incorporated in single - phase motors; three - phase motors require
adequate external motor protectors with connections according to
current standards
